Six universities maintaining close links with business
All six universities in the region recognise how vital it is to maintain
strong industry links. The University of Derby, for example, has successfully
developed a number of in-company management training courses and plays an increasing
role as a research and consultancy centre. Loughborough University provides
space for up to 45 start-up businesses on campus in its Innovation Centre.
On a global scale, superb international links have led to DeMontfort University
establishing Business Schools in South Africa and India, and the University
of Nottingham being the first British university to open a campus in China.
